ULAB Prepares for HULT Prize

Hult Prize GROOMING SESSION

University of Liberal Arts Bangladesh (ULAB)  HULT Prize’s organizing committee organized participant grooming sessions for the esteemed business competition, HULT Prize.

A total of 5 grooming sessions were held via Google Meet, beginning from 18th September 2020.

The sessions were directed towards training the participants of ULAB to help them prepare effectively for the competition. The 5 grooming sessions encompassed the topics- Etiquettes of competition, Design Thinking, Research and competition briefing, Product and Service Positioning, Alignment with Sustainable Development goals, and Pitching an idea. Each session was presided over by reputable guests.

The mentors for the grooming session were Senior Lecturer N.M Baki Billah of ULAB School of Business; Jannatul Tazreen, co-founder of EDOMO; Fahim Shahriar, Asian Regional Associate of HULT Prize Global Team; 2019 Regional Finalist Maisha Rafa Khan, who is also a management trainee at Pathao.

The mentors for the last two sessions were Md. Raihanul Kabir, City Manager of Business Development sector at Foodpanda; and Md. Sohan Haidear, founder and CEO of Smartifier Academy.

Md. Raihanul Kabir stressed on the importance of business initiatives being on par with sustainable development.

He said that it is important for a business to consider sustainable development. Like Foodpanda stresses on women empowerment, the participants too should consider development goals while brainstorming their ideas.

The last session took place on 27th September 2020, with Md. Sohan Haidear grooming the participants about pitching an idea.

Campus Director Sakiba Tanha said, “Having professionals of their caliber invest their time and knowledge to prepare the Ulabian participants is truly a blessing.

The future’s looking good so far. We hope to give our best performance at the HULT Prize.”
