When women suffer, society as a whole suffers. A family or society has a lot of expectations from a woman. And if the woman becomes substance dependent, all the dreams of a family are shattered.That’s why women should always be kept away from substance use.The guests spoke about these things at the opening ceremony of the vocational training course for post-treatment rehabilitation of female substance users at the meeting room of Dhaka Ahsania Mission Health Sector in Shyamoli on Sunday (September 24) at 3:30 p.m. In addition to rehabilitating females in society by freeing them from substance dependency, the Dhaka Ahsania Mission aims to help them lead a healthy and normal life within the mainstream of society.Towards this goal, Ahsania Mission Female Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Center, in collaboration with the Health Sector of Ahsania Mission, will initiate this program starting from October 1st. This program will continue regularly, which includes cooking courses (confectionery and Chinese items) and business management training. At the aforementioned inaugural event, Mr. Masud Hossain, Director of the Department of Narcotics Control (Treatment and Rehabilitation) and (Additional Duty, Prevention Education, Research and Publication Division), was present as the chief guest.At this time, he stated that females should not fall prey to substance use and should stay away from it. For those who have already fallen victim to substance use, it is essential to provide them with appropriate treatment to bring them back from the darkness of the world of addiction to the path of light.He further stated that today’s initiative by Ahsania Mission Female Drug Treatment and Rehabilitation Center is commendable.I hope that those who return home with treatment from here do not have to come back here. I think today’s event may be very small but it seems to me that it is a great opportunity for rehabilitation for women recovering from drug addiction. As a special guest at the event, Mr. Mujibur Rahman Patowari, Additional Director of the Department of Narcotics Control, Dhaka Metro (South), was present. He appreciated the initiative taken by Dhaka Ahsania Mission for females who have returned from addiction and mentioned that it is possible to reduce the relapse rate significantly. He emphasized the importance of such initiatives to keep everyone away from substance use and urged Dhaka Ahsania Mission to continue its efforts in this regard. Iqbal Masud, Director of Health and Wash Sector, Dhaka Ahsania Mission, presided over the opening ceremony.At the time, he mentioned, Our self-initiative for this event may be small, but the initiative itself is significant. We have taken many initiatives to empower women. Besides, Dhaka Ahsania Mission will establish large centers with all the facilities and opportunities for the treatment of female substance users. At the inauguration ceremony, the following individuals from Dhaka Ahsania Mission’s Vocational Training Team and Health Sector were present: Mr. AbdusSadeq, Team Leader of Vocational Training; Trainer Rumana Rahman; Deputy Director of Dhaka Ahsania Mission’s Health Sector, Mukhlesur Rahman; Assistant Director (Medical Services) Dr. Nayla Parveen; Project Manager Mahfida Deena Rubaiya; Project Coordinator Sharmeen Rahman; Project Coordinator Shariful Islam; Project Coordinator Shahedul Haque; Senior Psychologist Rakhi Ganguly; and Center Manager Farzana Ferdous, among other staff members.
